With book and lyrics by Judith Offer and music by Arkadi Serper, A Shirtwaist Tale brings to the stage the true story of the historic 1909 strike by thousands of young women in New York City against the unhealthy and unsafe conditions of the City's sweatshops, set against the background of the Jewish immigrant experience.

First produced in 1999, A Shirtwaist Tale was last performed to enthusiastic audiences at Humanist Hall in Oakland, California in October 2007 and at the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay in Berkeley, California in November 2007.
